Summertime in Aztec Center!

While Associated Students operates year-round and never stops working, some things slow down a bit over the summer months. The normal buzz that permeates campus in the fall and spring semesters leads to a more relaxed, quiet campus as some students take summer courses, and staff prepare for the upcoming school year.

The Aztec Center Student Union continues to be the “heart” of the campus over the summer, but it is a much quieter space between June and August. The weather sure hasn’t felt “summery” yet this year, but check out these “summer scenes” from the Aztec Center:

The Associated Students Council display board is empty! A.S. staff is currently working to give it a new look, and gather the photos of the 2010-11 A.S. Council members to display for all to see!

Only a few people are walking through the Aztec Center breezeway, as opposed to the normal rush of students passing through to get to class during the semesters.

At the end of the breezeway, over the Aztec Center Steps, a rainbow flag is flying in honor LGBT Pride Month in San Diego. SDSU kicked off LGBT Pride Month by hosting a Rainbow Flag Raising Ceremony near Hepner Hall on July 1.

Aztec Shops reminds passersby that frozen yogurt is a healthy summertime treat! Just Chill is located in the Aztec Center Food Court.

The Aztec Center Ticket Office closed permanently on May 28. All ticket office transactions can now be performed at The Viejas Arena Box Office.

There is plenty of seating available at the cafe tables outside of Aztec Center Starbucks during the summer!

A quiet courtyard!

This Aztec Center sign reminds people that the Aquaplex is a great place to hang out during the summer months!

The A.S. Executive Officers are in office and working hard all summer long to prepare for the upcoming school year!
